Game Journalism
I currently write list articles for Game Rant, at the moment obsessively writing about Baldur's Gate 3, and all of my published articles to date can be viewed here.
Prose
Both personal projects that are currently in development, samples of text have been included to demonstrate my novel writing style, with more available upon request. Read at your leisure!
Mythical Hounds
Children's narrative about a family of dogs from various different mythologies
Fantasypocalypse
Genre splice of fantasy elements within an apocalyptic setting
Symbiotic Apocalypse
This script is for a hypothetical game, pitched by myself. It acts as a skill test for game script writing. The narrative takes place in an apocalyptic setting, but with animals as the player characters. No element of fantasy to it, it considers what the apocalypse would look like from the perspective of various British wildlife.
Memorial Woods
I developed this work as a skill test for writing branching narrative scripts in Excel. Also taking place in an apocalyptic setting, this script is primarily a duologue, with only five primary points of choice. I intended to keep it smaller in scale than my previous branching narrative project, in order to focus on the technical skill of Excel script-writing. A Twine version of the script has been included for increased ease in tracking the branches.
What comment does Tales From The Borderlands, Zer0 Sum, make on class tensions, through the use of two playable characters?
My final university essay, my intention is to develop this analysis over the summer and seek academic approval for publication. The essay discusses the depiction of a social issue within Tales From The Borderlands. A few samples of text have been provided, with more available upon request.
Resistance to change in Night in the Woods
An analysis of a predominant theme within a game I am passionate about, this writing is included to display my non-fiction academic writing style, as well as my ability to understand games as an art form rather than purely entertainment. A sample of text has been provided, with more available upon request.
